Which US states can be more opposite than Hawaii and Alaska? Only six hours by plane, but they are worlds apart. Let's look at the weather, climate, mentality, topography, culture and last but not least the inhabitants themselves. But these differences are not important at all. I enjoyed both: the colorful beauty of Hawaii and the wilderness of Alaska. The Polynesian freedom and the rough but warm Alaskan mentality. The heat and the cold. The beach and the ice. I love it all
